Price sponsorships from expected audience delivery and commercial value
Use this calculator to build a sponsorship rate from expected reach, CPM, production workload, usage rights, exclusivity, and your minimum campaign fee.
Follower count alone is a weak basis for sponsorship pricing because brands usually care about the audience a campaign is expected to actually reach.
The calculator starts with media value, adds production work, then applies premiums for commercial rights and restrictions that increase the value or opportunity cost of the deal.
Sponsorship pricing is a negotiation, not a universal tariff. Audience quality, niche, conversion history, brand fit, geography, content format, and demand can justify rates above or below a simple CPM model.
How the sponsorship rate is calculated
The calculator separates audience value from production work and commercial rights.
Calculate media value
Expected views, impressions, opens, or listens are divided by 1,000 and multiplied by your target sponsorship CPM.
Add production value
Per-deliverable production fees and any fixed campaign costs are added to media value.
Add commercial-rights premiums
Usage rights, exclusivity, rush timelines, and other complexity premiums are applied to the base campaign value.
Check against your pricing floor
The calculated campaign value is compared with your minimum campaign fee and the higher amount becomes the recommended rate.
Example creator sponsorship calculation
Suppose a creator is pricing a brand campaign with the following terms:
Media value is $1,750. Production and campaign costs add $600, creating a base campaign value of $2,350. Usage rights add $587.50 and exclusivity adds $352.50, for a calculated campaign price of $3,290. Because this is above the $2,500 minimum fee, the recommended sponsorship price is $3,290.
What each result means
The final sponsorship price combines audience access, production work, and commercial rights.
Media value
The audience-delivery portion of the sponsorship price based on expected reach and target CPM.
Base campaign value
Media value plus production fees and other direct campaign costs before usage rights or exclusivity premiums.
Recommended sponsorship price
The higher of the calculated campaign value and your minimum campaign fee.
Effective CPM
The final recommended sponsorship price converted back into a price per 1,000 expected audience units.
Price per deliverable
The final recommended sponsorship price divided across the number of contracted deliverables.
Sponsorship pricing questions
Common questions creators have when pricing brand deals and sponsored content.
Should I price sponsorships from follower count?
Follower count can provide context, but expected views, impressions, opens, or listens are usually more useful because they reflect the audience the sponsor is likely to receive.
What CPM should I use?
There is no universal creator sponsorship CPM. The appropriate rate depends on format, niche, audience quality, geography, engagement, historical performance, demand, and the commercial value of your audience.
Why charge extra for usage rights?
Usage rights let the sponsor extract value from your content beyond the original organic placement. Paid advertising or broader reuse can materially increase the commercial value of the deal.
Why charge for exclusivity?
Exclusivity limits your ability to work with competing brands, creating an opportunity cost that can justify an additional fee.
Should production work be included in CPM?
It can be, but separating production fees makes the pricing logic clearer when campaigns require significant filming, editing, design, travel, or revisions.
